Blinkity Black

FR : Un clignement, une image de perdue. Un deuxième, une autre image de perdue. Ainsi, des dizaines de milliers de fois par jour. Ceci est l’histoire d’un homme marqué par ses images perdues. 

Blinkity Black est créé à partir de tous les instants qui échappent au regard simplement car nos paupières se ferment. Si nous pouvions découvrir tous ces moments perdus qu’y découvririons–nous ? Et quelle image sauver ?

EN : One blink, one lost image. Another one, another lost image. And so on thousand times a day. This is the story of a man marked by lost images from his life. 

Blinkity Black is created from all the moments that escape the eyes simply because our eyelids close. If we could discover all these lost moments, what would we discover? And witch image to save?

FR : Wavewidth retranscrit la sensation d’apaisement que peut procurer un paysage de bord de mer. Soulevés par des vagues de temps, les repères spatio-temporels sont troublés par le son. Les ondes marines et sonores se répondent dans une expérience cinématographique contemplative.

EN : Wavewidth captures the sense of calm that a seaside landscape can provide. Lifted by waves of time, the spatio-temporal markers are disturbed by the sound. The marine and sound waves resonate in a contemplative cinematographic experience.

FR : 1 MTH/MIN traverse le printemps 2020 du point de vue principal de l’auteur sur le monde extérieur pendant cette période particulière. Chaque image représente un balayage de 24 heures pris chaque jour du 21 mars au 21 juin. À travers le cadre d’une fenêtre, le paysage met en scène des phénomènes naturels : la floraison des arbres, les changements météorologiques, l’extension de la lumière du jour jusqu’au solstice d’été… Il s’agit d’une réflexion sur l’espace-temps sous une forme cinématographique. D’un point de vue sédentaire, ce dispositif explore la capacité du film à jouer avec ces dimensions par une compression efficace d’un temps de confinement vraiment long.

EN : 1 MTH/MIN crosses the spring of 2020 from the author’s main view of the outside world during this particular period. Each image represents a 24-hour scan taken every day from March 21 to June 21. Through the frame of a window, the landscape depicts natural phenomena: the flowering of trees, changes in the weather and the extension of daylight until the summer solstice… It is a reflection on space-time in a cinematographic form. From a sedentary point of view, this device explores the film’s ability to play with these dimensions by an effective compression of a confinement time that seems really long.

Human Walkers in Motion

FR : La marche habite notre être et régit notre espace social. Côte à côte ou face à face, elle implique un échange. Lorsque tous ces pas s’additionnent, une harmonie cachée se crée. En renouant avec le travail d’Eadweard Muybridge, ce film nous projette dans le rythme frénétique des pas de 50 marcheurs.

EN : The walk inhabits our being and governs our social space. Side by side or face to face, it implies an exchange. When combining everyone’s specific pace, a hidden harmony arises. Reconnecting with Eadweard Muybridge‘s work, this film projects us into the frenetic rhythm of the steps of fifty walkers.
